Universal Legal Interception System
\nThe TerraLIS Legal Interception System is intended for interception and procession of communication
\nsessions from telephony and data transmission sub-networks by authorized law
\nenforcement agencies. It provides the possibility of interception both from traditional channel
\nswitched telephone networks and new generation multi-service networks (NGN).
\nTerraLIS provides:
\n\u2022 Connection to network elements of service provider via SORM, ETSI, CALEA interfaces or via internal
\ninterfaces, provided by the communication switch itself (\u0425-interface).
\nFunctional features of TerraLIS system:
\n\u2022 Connection to the following types of network equipment: PSTN, GSM, CDMA, NGN, GGSN, SGSN, PDSN;
\n\u2022 Interception of incoming and outgoing calls (internal, local, in-zone, long-distance and international)
\nto\/from certain subscribers of the given switch, being monitored;
\n\u2022 Interception of outgoing call from all the subscribers of given switch to pre-defined numbers in
\nthe telephony network;
\n\u2022 Interception of facts of setting up or changinh by the subscriber being monitored of the additional
\nservices, changing the direction of
\nthe calls (call forwarding, conference
\ncalls, etc.) or numbering information
\n(fast dialing, direct calling, etc.).
\n\u2022 Long-term storage of all the intercepted
\ninformation;
\n\u2022 Detection of subscriber\u2019s location
\nwith indication on the map;
\n\u2022 Gathering of the statistics about system
\nevents;
\n\u2022 Indication of information in convenient
\nform;
\n\u2022 Possibility of monitoring of subscribers

Brief description of TerraLIS system key elements.
\n\u2022 Mediation Device (MD) is intended for interaction with switching equipmentof service provider
\nfor implementation of monitoring features. MD can be connected to switching equipment via
\nvarious interfaces \u2013 SORM, ETSI, CALEA, internal interfaces of equipment vendor.
\n\u2022 Database Server is intended for storage of information about the registered communication sessions.
\n\u2022 Archive server is intended for long-term storage of information about communication sessions,
\nstored to the archive.
\n\u2022 Query Procession Server is intended for separation of access from processing sites to procession
\nsubsystems.
\n\u2022 Data Conversion Server is intended for conversion of fax and modem messages into the form,
\nviewable by operators.
\n\u2022 Data Processing Server is intended for procession and storage of information from data transmission
\nsub-networks (GPRS, PDSN, IP-traffic).
\n\u2022 Optical Recognition Station is intended for text recognition from intercepted fax pages and information
\nstorage to text files.
\n\u2022 Keyword Search Station is intended for automated search of set keywords through the recognized
\nfax and modem messages.
\n\u2022 System Administrator Workstation is intended for control of Operator\u2019s activities, forming of target
\nselection table, allocation of tasks to Operators, etc.
\n\u2022 Control Server is intended for technological control of elements of the system.
\n\u2022 Administrator on Duty Workstation is intended for control of Operator\u2019s activities, allocation of
\ntasks to Operators, distribution of load between Operators (within the margins, defined by System
\nAdministrator).
\n\u2022 Operator Workstation is intended for procession of intercepted communication sessions and creation
